  • Sigh.

I just found out one of my friends here at work has cancer.   Not sure how bad it is yet.

Him when we were 4 wheeling several years back.

Him with his kids at a company picnic.

    This sucks.

    Best of luck my friend!

  • I am so sorry to hear about your friend. Cancer is an ugly word that is all too familiar in my family. I hope what your friend has is not aggressive and is treatable. I'm sure he appreciates having a friend like you during this time.

  • I hope it is something they found early enough that it is easily treatable.

  • Sorry to hear about your friend. It's everywhere. You hear it more and more.I don't know if they are any closer to finding a cause, but they have come a long way on the cures if caught early.Cancer is a big fear of mine. How have you been?

  • Nice to hear from you too! I have lost a total of 14 pounds now and can actually pull my pants off without un bottoning them (I used to have to squeeze into them before I started this diet) I am really exercising.I feel so much better. How is your friend doing?

  • Do you know what kind of cancer it is? Though cancer is always serious, some kinds have better recovery rates than others based on the celltype of the cancer and its location in the body. I hope it has a good chance of being beat - and as 'nessy said, that they found it in an early stage, so that they might remove it by surgery.

I've cared for quite a few cancerpatients at the hospital, but it still gets to me seeing people suffer like that and not being able to do much to help.
