Fought a woods fire tonight. Way to cold to be out doing that. So I was told by the kids who had on way more gear then me. 
I was okay.
Another stupid person burning trash and leaving it unattended. 
I'd like to say we should do something about stupid people but then I know that each of us has to dance with that partner at times.

That said, McCain has been around the world block. Obama hasn't really done shit except for being a good orator. That means little to me. Giving a good speech and promising everyone everything means crap. Obama is promising a return to the 1930's. Been there, done that. It didn't work now did it? Try listening to him and not watching him. It makes a difference.
In 2000, it was all the rage to say how different McCain was from Bush. Surely you all remember that. McCain was the great outsider. The maverick. Yet Obama, silly as he is, thinks in his crazy mind, that McCain is a Bush clone. lmfao
Yet Obama spends hundreds of millions to deceive.
Is McCain all that? Nope. Neither is Obama. His trickle down taxes on me don't sit well. Meaning, he wants to tax the hell out of corporations. But they just pass down the pain to us. Make no mistake. Shift funds overseas. Draw out of our 401(k). Whatever. Obama's plan to spread the wealth has been tried over and over and failed over and over.
I am also concerned Obama wants to spend 18 BILLION on education for children under 4. He wants to take that by cutting the NASA budget by some 60%. It's on his website. This is kind of personal to me. How much federal spending do we need to spend on kids under 4? Is cutting the NASA budget by 60% good? No. And I don't think he can do it. Yet, that he wants to scares me. Yeah, let's just kill the space budget even if it's tiny compared to other spending. I'm not a parent but how much can 18 Billion teach kids under 4 years old?
At the end of the day it's up to me - or us - to make our own way. I just don't want a nuke to land on us. Either a missile or dirty bomb.
The economy is not all that bad. So many people have too much work. Myself included. Not to say everything is all that great all over. I've never been one to argue from the specific to the general but things are picking up in certain places. My brother is already scheduled to work Thanksgiving Day and on Christmas Eve due to the high manufacturing demand. His work is running 24/7 in order to keep up.
I know stocks have crashed. Just hang in there. Keep your wits about you.... it will be okay.
As I said, it's up to us to take care of ourselves.
I'm going to shower and head to work soon.

The fire dept received a grant from the Virginia Dept. of Forestry for a little more than $13,000.
For years and years we couldn't land a grant and now we seem to get one every year or so. I'm not complaining mind you. I just wish we actually had more people to use this equipment. It's wearing on us.
I don't like the shorter days but I am ready for fall.

My company hired Frank Culbertson. He is the only American who was not on the planet on 9/11. He was on the International Space Station. We had a group lunch with him and that was fun. He is a great speaker.
