Power.
My power came back on Friday evening. Just as the sun was setting.
I can't say I was unhappy. It's good to have electric. Getting hot here. AC is nice.
Yet, I do try and find value in all things. It's nice to be tested.
With no tv, internet, or such that I usually have when I get home, I turned to reading books in the light of the lamps. Of course I paid bills too. For myself and the fire dept.
Ke'Hleyr joined me on the table as I read.

Those lamps are beautiful and make this picture very romantic! what are you reading?
Neat picture. It's so cozy.It does make you really appreciate what you take for granted when you finally get your power back on.Especially when it happens in the winter. Simple things like flushing the toilet, washing your hands, making COFFEE in the morning!!!I don't think I would mind too much going back to using oil lamps though,I love the lighting that they give off.
Still working on my pastel painting. It's coming along, but I have a ways to go yet.I don't know which I like better-oil painting or pastel. I like the feel of the paintbrush on the board and the smell of turpentine, but I like the ease of not having all the cleanup and mixing of colors with pastel.I'm just happy to be back in artistic mode.I really which I had more time to devote to it.But I have to work.
Today since I had off work I try to cram everything I want to do into one day. IT just goes way to fast. I got up early and started weeding my flower beds, then started mulching, when I got to hot I jumped in the pool and floated a little then started again. Needless to say I am burnt to a crisp.I came inside when I couldn't handle anymore sun and started working on my pastel. Then back out to the pool for a night swim. Nothing more peacful than a night swim under the moonlight.I actually felt a sence of peace. How are you doing by the way? Still liking the job?
