So back in October or so Frogsong tagged me. I am finally getting around to posting 8 things about me.
Frogsong, I told you I would get to it! lol I guess it was supposed to be just about general things about me so here it goes.1. I work as a mechanical designer in the aerospace industry and have been at the same job for 17+ years.
2. I've been told I'm incorrigible. That is probably accurate information.
3. About age 30 I became a volunteer fireman. I promptly became the Treasurer. Did that for many years, took a break and was President for a year. Then went back to Treasurer again. First time I did CPR was at 12:15am Christmas morning 1997. He was layed out by the Christmas tree.
4. I play the World of Warcraft video game.
5. Bruce Springsteen is probably my favorite musical artist.
6. When I was 14 I had an older brother killed in a car accident. He was 19.
7. I don't drink coffee nor do I like the smell.
8. I tempt fate and it will bite me in the ass one day.
9. I am an Eagle Scout.
10. I like to hike.
11. I like knives and usually have 2 on me at any given time.
12. I make my own Buffalo Wings.
13. I like nascar and pro football.
14. Apparently I cannot count.
Sorry it took me so long Frogsong. I hope that gives you some insight about me.

#14- too funny! Sorry about your brother. Cool about the Eagle Scout- my brother is one as well. I own a very nice Swamp Rat knife although I have yet to actually use it. I used to be a Packers fan but mostly because I thought the cheese head hat was cool. I prefer Rugby.
What a nice surprise! I thought that you forgot. It was nice getting to know you.Mechanical designer!!! Wow,that's hard.I had a small taste of that when I went to vo-tech for commercial art.RYC: Yeah the guy got out of his car on rabbit hill to help people and another car came down the hill and couldn't stop and pinned him between the two cars. they took one of his legs off and give him a 50/50 chance of losing the other leg-sad thing. there were 15 cars involved in that accident on the hill.It was solid ice that the cars just slid all over the place and it happened real fast.the news said that over 200 accidents were reported in that short period of time an who know's how many weren't reported.Well, i have to run my dog is sitting here begging to go out.Night! sherri
I liked reading more about you! #3 made me laugh.
Losing a sibling is something that's SO tough. Is there any connection between that and your desire to volunteer as a firefighter?
keens, I've not used a Swamp Rat. Let me know how it is!
sherri, lol, nope didn't forget. I just had to wait until the moment felt right. Some type of kamra thing I guess. If I try and force things I usually muck it up.
S2Know, I don't think so. My dad was a volunteer so I was always around it. But as I got older and living where I was (and am), I was feeling disconnected from the community I live in. So the fire dept seemed like a good medium to become engaged with it. I do however often think of my bro anytime I run a motor vehicle accident. And I am opposed to picking up body parts.
I also am sorry about the loss of your brother, that must have been very painful. I really enjoyed learning some more about you here! Lists like this can be fun, though I agree they are best done when the mood really strikes. You have certainly hit upon a wonderful way to be more involved with your community, I admire your volunteer work greatly.
Hey Mr. Fireman! How are you? I lost 8 pounds!!! I feel better. But I am ssssooooooooooo sick of winter.
I meant to share with you a story my cousin shared with me. He is also a firefighter. His first call was to a drowning victim. He says while administering CPR, she vomited in his mouth!! Don't they have shields now?
