  • Accident update:

A Sterling woman driving the wrong way on Rt. 7 near the Clark County line
Monday night caused a three-vehicle crash that left all three drivers injured
and traffic shut down for six hours.

Around 8 p.m. yesterday, the Loudoun
County Sheriff's Office received reports of a Toyota Corolla traveling westbound
in the eastbound lanes of Rt. 7 near Blueridge Mountain Road. According to
authorities, moments later, the driver of the Toyota, Darcy Moore, 25, of
Sterling, struck a 2000 Audi A6 being driven by Jennifer Jeremiah, 33, of
Winchester. The crash sent Moore's vehicle into the median and Jeremiah's car
spinning where it was then hit by a 2002 Subaru WRX driven by Pascale Roy, 30,
    of Leesburg.

Moore was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital for treatment
of life-threatening injuries. She remains hospitalized and is listed in critical
condition. Jeremiah was transported to Winchester Hospital and treated for
serious injuries. Roy was taken to the Cornwall campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital
where he was treated for minor injuries.

    The crash remains under
investigation by the sheriff's office as its tries to determine how Moore ended
up driving on the wrong side of the road. Sheriff's office spokesperson Kraig
Troxell said he did not know at this time whether alcohol was a factor.

    I am surprised she's alive.

  • Wow.I don't know how you do it. I couldn't deal with seeing that kind of stuff and then getting it out of my mind. I wanted to thank you for you kind words.I am still numb and depressed. Friday will be a really bad day for me. And I just don't know how to deal with it. You are so right to hug your loved ones because you just never know! Keep up the great job that you do helping people.

  • Very wise comment.

  • I have recurring dreams about this type of thing happening.  I'm always glad to wake up.  I feel for the people who woke from this in the hospital.

ryc... yes, the kids were lucky and the car can be replaced.  They're fine!  *hugs*
